WHERE TO STAY & WHERE TO EAT

Local Hotels and Inns

Whether crew, passengers or visiting the airport on business, we are fortunate to have a fantastic variety of places to stay, or to enjoy a meal at, in very close proximity to the airport, to suit all budgets and preferences up to five-star standards.

Walking Distance (6+ minutes’ walk from terminal)

First choice, simply for convenience, but also for value, is the new Premier Inn opposite the airport entrance, which also has its own restaurant, from £40 or less/night. Very close by, next to the airport are a number of pubs for a quick but good meal, including the Royal Sun, the Jolly Boatman or The Boat.

Five minutes’ drive

Woodstock is a beautiful town just to the north (2.5m) of the airport on the edge of the Cotswolds region with numerous pubs, restaurants, hotels and Bed & Breakfast establishments.   It has the added benefit of being home to Blenheim Palace, Churchill’s birthplace and one of the UK’s most magnificent stately houses. Use any hotel search site for ‘Woodstock’ to see choices, but we would strongly recommend the The Feathers or the The Bear.

Up to 10 minutes’ drive

Moving south towards Oxford city, between the airport and the city centre, are numerous hotels including a Holiday Inn or Travelodge (4m), the Jurys Inn (4.5m) and then many others including excellent B&Bs along the Woodstock Road or Banbury Road leading into Oxford city.

15+ minutes’ drive

To our south is the beautiful university city of Oxford with all its classic architectural charm.   Attracting over 7 million visitors a year, naturally it hosts numerous hotels along with hundreds of bars, pubs, clubs and restaurants.   The choice is significant, but we like the 5-star Randolph Hotel, the quirky Malmaison (in the old Oxford Prison), the 5-star Old Bank or the 5-Star Old Parsonage.   Also, of note are the Eastgate, the Vanbrugh House and the Courtyard by Marriott

Note! If driving own car into Oxford, parking can be challenging in the centre – ask our staff for tips!

Further afield

To the west into the stunning Cotswolds region are a myriad of wonderful country house hotels and Inns and some incredible award-winning town and village pubs and restaurants.   But the same applies more or less in any direction within 30 mins or more.   We are happy to give personal recommendations on request to suit all tastes, occasions and budgets.

Transport

We can arrange any ground transport requirements as required, whilst we host an Enterprise-rent-a-Car car rental operation next to the airport terminal (FBO) whilst other car hire options are in the immediate vicinity.
